Mammoriri Print

The world we live in lately seems to be trying to take those things away from many different groups of people, and to me, that is absolutely heartbreaking and wrong. No one deserves to feel like they are not welcome, simply for being who they are.
 
Because of this, I am going to be starting a series. I'm not super sure on the specifics yet, but something in me really wants to do this and see where it takes me.
 
This first portrait is based off a badass lioness, named Mmamoriri. If you don't know her story, she is a gender fluid lioness in Botswana. Mmamoriri was born with both male and female attributes, so I thought she was the PERFECT subject to represent the LGBTQIA+ community, specifically the trans community, that is currently under attack in this country.
 
Mmamoriri is a strong, confident, and powerful lioness. She has a full mane, a deep roar, and a fierce personality. She has been looked at as a protector of her pride because of these genetic markers, making her quite the amazing animal. Her story inspired me to create this portrait, and I hope it inspires more to be allies to a community in need.
 
Once this portrait is complete, it will be for sale on my website, and I will be donating part of the proceeds of this drawing to the Trevor Project.
